NGCSU SHARED SERVICES FAQS
Questions submitted as of March 5, 2009:

How does this transition affect reimbursement checks from medical flexible spending accounts?
We will continue to process medical and dependent care flexible spending account checks on campus.  Employees will still submit paper claim forms to HR; there should not be a noticeable change in the level of service.

Will my personal information (such as SSN, bank account number) be secure?
Yes, ADP provides several layers of security, including digital certification of the computer that is accessing their database and SSL encryption of confidential data.  Additionally, CIOs at each USG university/college have been working with ADP to ensure that USG security concerns have been adequately addressed.

What about individuals who have no checking account?  Will this force them to get a checking account?
Paper paychecks will continue to be available, but they will be delivered to the employee's home address via US Mail.  Employees who do not want a checking account might want to consider establishing direct deposit to a savings account, instead.

I scheduled my mortgage payment on the 26th, based on being paid on the 25th.  Does anyone care?
We care very much.  NGCSU is one of four institutions in the USG that currently pay their employees before the last working day of the month.  All four institutions made strong arguments for continuing the practice, but the cost savings gained by standardizing pay practices and consolidating the payroll processing function would be greatly reduced if additional pay dates were added.

How does this affect summer faculty pay dates?
This is still being discussed.  We'll announce the decision as soon as we can.
